About
My research interests are Chinese history, the history of medicine and science. My main focus is studying contemporary Chinese psychiatry concentrating on mental illness in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
My most recent studies have concentrated on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in relation to motor vehicle accidents in mainland China and the changing concept of Neurasthenia over the past fifteen years. This semester I am taking Modern Chinese History; Society and Medicine in the Modern Era; Mind, Matter and Culture and a reading course covering the History of Science from prehistory to the Renaissance.
